MICHELLE BATTEN

Psychologist

Michelle is a registered psychologist who believes in providing a safe space for people to build skills and create positive change in their lives. 

Michelle has a gentle, warm and respectful approach to her work, tailoring interventions for each individual client and helping people to draw on their own resilience and capacity to move forward in their lives according to their values. Michelle uses an integrative approach to therapy utilising evidence-based techniques from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Michelle is passionate about providing holistic treatment to support the mind and body and works with children, adolescents, adults and families.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts (Indonesian and Linguistics) from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) from the University of Western Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Charles Sturt University as well as a Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology from the University of Wollongong.

Michelle has been working as a School Counsellor/Registered Psychologist in both private and educational settings for over ten years. With extensive experience working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse groups, Michelle treats a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, self-harm, difficulties with emotional regulation and general wellbeing challenges.

HOURS:

Mondays and Tuesdays 9:45am – 4:30pm
